Summary: A Mechanical Maintenance Technician with 2 years of experience and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring efficient and safe operations. This includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs or replacements, utilizing their foundational knowledge and practical experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment, identifying potential issues and ensuring proper functioning.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments, with increasing independence.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems, utilizing gained experience to determine the root cause of failures.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, demonstrating growing proficiency.
• Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime, with guidance from senior technicians as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals, applying knowledge from diploma studies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs, contributing to organized documentation.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and departments, fostering teamwork and communication.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission, reinforced by diploma studies.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, developed through practical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, enhanced by diploma coursework.
• Developing problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, honed through on-the-job experience.
• Strong attention to detail and safety, crucial for maintaining equipment integrity and preventing accidents.
