Job Title: Purchase Engineer / Procurement Engineer

Location: Yamunanagar

Summary: A detail-oriented and technically sound individual with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of experience is sought for a Purchase Engineer/Procurement Engineer position in Yamunanagar. This role will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the supply of mechanical components, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of mechanical components, equipment, and services.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
• Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
• Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, production, maintenance) to understand their procurement needs.
• Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports and other procurement-related data.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues with suppliers.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in a related technical field (e.g., mechanical maintenance, production, or a previous purchasing role).
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical components and equipment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of procurement principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement software (preferred).
• Local market knowledge of Yamunanagar.

Additional Skills (Advantageous):

• Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, particularly in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of specific mechanical components or industries relevant to the company.
• Experience with import/export procedures.
